Open Gate welcomed 103 primary school pupils and 302 grammar school students to its 18th school year, with a quarter of those at the grammar school awarded scholarships

Open Gate ushered in its eighteenth school year with 302 grammar school students and 103 first-tier primary school pupils. More than a quarter of the grammar school students entered the new school year holding scholarships from The Kellner Family Foundation. Petra Dobešová, previously the managing director of OPEN GATE - gymnázium a základní škola, s.r.o., has been named the Head of Open Gate School. The school has a stable body of teaching staff, just under a third of whom are male and a fifth of whom are native speakers of languages other than Czech.

Martin Lněnička, principal of a children’s home: The school gives children from children’s homes a better starting position
Roman and Alica came to Open Gate from the Children’s Home in Prague-Dolní Počernice. Both have obtained grants from The Kellner Family Foundation. Martin Lněnička, the principal of the children’s home, says studying at the school has opened new opportunities for them – opportunities that are available to any gifted child regardless of their socio-economic background. Open Gate Grammar School and Primary School begins its 16th academic year with scholarships for 95 students

Open Gate starts its 16th year with 293 grammar school students and 99 pupils in the primary school’s junior years. This year, as every year, a significant number of grammar school students have scholarships from The Kellner Family Foundation set up by Mrs Renáta Kellnerová and Mr Petr Kellner. For the current academic year, 95 students, approximately one-third of all students at the grammar school, have been awarded scholarships.

The 15th school year at Open Gate: 294 grammar school students and 101 primary school pupils

At Open Gate, 294 students of the eight-year grammar school and 101 primary school pupils have begun the 15th school year together with 108 teachers and other staff members. The family foundation of Mrs Renáta Kellnerová and Mr Petr Kellner has awarded scholarships to 95 grammar school students. In this jubilee school year, the students and pupils can look forward to new classrooms, modernised dormitories, and an improved Counselling Centre. Another new feature is the OG Buddy Programme, under which a ‘mentor’ from the ranks of older students takes care of every newcomer.

Grant applications | Open Gate Grammar School

We will accept applications for grants for the Open Gate eight-year grammar school again until 1 March this year. We provide social grants, for which future students or their legal representatives may apply, intended for academically gifted children with difficult social backgrounds.

The Open Gate grammar school and primary school open their 14th academic year

On 3 September 2018, the gates of the Open Gate grammar school and primary school were opened to the next academic year for the 14th time. At Open Gate, 378 pupils and students are starting the 2018/19 academic year, 98 of them at the primary school and 280 of them at the eight-year grammar school.

A world-wide phenomenon will be coming to the Czech Republic. TED Conferences (Technology, Entertainment, Design) feature well-known people such as former American President Bill Clinton, Bono from U2, top chef Jamie Oliver, and Nobel laureates. On April 21 an independent local community will be hosting a similar conference in the theatre of the Open Gate Primary School and Grammar School in Babice.
