Meeting of the Universities project grantees

Setkání stipendistů projektu Univerzity
A traditional get-together of the grantees and the graduates who had received financial grants from The Kellner Family Foundation during their university enrolment

On the third day of the new year, we met with the university students in Hadovka, a summer house in Prague that boasts of a very colourful history and is attracting attention as an unusual work of architecture. Tomáš Marťák entertained us with his scientific approach to the baking of honest Czech bread and much more. When Daniel Mužátko was reflecting on how to teach mathematics well, we were wishing that our schools had a lot of enthusiastic teachers and pupils for whom numbers would not be a nightmare. Le Thu Tran gave an account of the system of medical education at universities in the UK. The first part of the meeting was rounded off by a University of Oxford student, Revan Rangotis. Filip Zaykov, a violin player, and Jakub Ošmera, an opera singing student at a university in Vienna, provided a musical performance. Alexandr Vondra, a diplomat and politician and a Member of the European Parliament, then shared his recollections of the events of 30 years ago and his views of the current situation in the European Union and its further development with the students.
