Early Childhood Support for Young Children's Development

A child’s chances of receiving a quality education are shaped in the very first years of life. Working with community-based field workers, we therefore support children from less stimulating home environments from birth. Through the Early Childhood Support programme, we help children build stronger foundations for future learning and prepare for the transition to primary school.

About the Programme

Through the Early Childhood Support programme, we provide support to children from infancy through preschool and up to their transition to primary school. The programme was launched by The Kellner Family Foundation in 2026 in partnership with local municipalities and the organisation Cesta von CZ. Its goal is to increase the number of children who complete primary school and continue on to further education.

How does the programme work? Trained community workers, known as Omamas, visit the youngest children and their families regularly at home, helping parents support their children's language, cognitive and social development through play and everyday activities. For preschool-aged children, field workers help families prepare for a smooth transition into kindergarten.

The pilot phase of the programme is being implemented in the Czech towns of Cheb, Litvínov and Most.

Every child deserves the opportunity to receive a quality education, regardless of the circumstances into which they are born. That is why we have expanded the work of our family foundation to include the youngest children. In doing so, we are building on more than twenty years of helping children realise their full potential.
