Winter semester of the second year

In my life nothing has changed during this semester. Every day progresses in the same way. Waking up, spending the day in school and then studying in my room. I am glad that I have started to go to practice at least. It enriches my knowledge and also represents another activity then sitting behind the desk.

This semester is done and now I enjoy two weeks of well-deserved free time. My first exam was from Biochemistry. I finished it in the begging of January; however, I had to sacrifice my time during the Christmas holidays because I had to study intensively. Originally, I wanted to do a pre-term already in December, but one more month for studying definitely paid off, since I got A from the exam. Afterwards I had only one more exam left, even though a very difficult one. I remember when I had thought in the first year that it is impossible to learn an answer to 227 questions, and I had hoped that until the time I will be doing this exam, it will change. That was not the case of course, so I spend the whole January studying all these questions. I went through a very difficult time, but in the end I got B from Physiology. I have to admit that both of these exams were very pleasant. I was not so afraid of Biochemistry, but Physiology didn’t give me sleep. Finally, I have surprised myself and I was able to answer most of the additional questions by which I proved myself that I understand the subject strengthening my good feeling. Funny thing that I have realized after one and a half year of study of the Veterinary Medicine is that I always pick a question regarding the topic of muscles. Fortunately, I understand muscles very well.

My excitement after finishing this semester cannot be described using words. Unfortunately, I know that the hardest is still in front of me. In one year I will be going through even more difficult exam period. However, what makes me even happier is that I still remember so many things from these exams. I like when subjects are interconnected which is the exact case of Biochemistry and Physiology. Also it is awesome that these subjects actually explain all the processes which happen in a healthy animal body and also in a human body.

I am looking forward for the next semester and especially for the summer break which will follow. According to older students this semester should be easier, but it is important to not get lazy which is definitely not in my plan. After I arrive back to Brno I will enter my routine of school, practice and helping around animals again.
