I got back to Brighton, a small town in the south of England, after Easter holidays. Once I was back in my dorm room, I started preparing hard for exams that were due in about three weeks.

I barely lifted my head from the books, textbooks, study notes and other materials that I had gathered during the past year in those few weeks. Even though I had diligently attended classes, done my homework, and handed in essays on time throughout the year, I was quite worried about my final exams. But as I set my pen aside after the first, second, third, fourth and fifth exam, I felt increasingly more that the effort I had put in my studies that year paid off. I will learn the results only at the end of July, though, so all I can do for now is just hope that my feelings were right.

I enjoyed a few sunny days in Brighton after the last exam, when all the stress had waned. I slowly packed up all my stuff; friends and I would just stroll the city center, sit on the warm beach sand, and drift away with the beginning of our vacation. Then I said goodbye to everybody, got on my bus and went back home to my family and friends. I couldn’t wait to see them again.
