New Year’s Resolution

Countless things have happened at our university since last October. It was pretty chaotic before Christmas, with everyone handing in their last essays and homework and packing for the Christmas holidays. The library was bursting at the seams, and the Internet connection crashed.

Yet, despite the inner stress, the time was full of peaceful anticipation and anticipation of Christmas all around. My arrival home was a narrow escape. As they say, at one minute before midnight. My flight took of at 1 p.m. and the Manchester airport closed four hours later. The snow was catastrophic in England this year. Nobody was prepared for such a mass of snow, and the system collapsed.

Christmas holidays were pure genius. I relaxed, spent time with friends and stuffed myself with Christmas pastry J. And my New Year’s Resolution? Pass my exams in June, find a job, be there for my friends, keep my work spirit up, and feel fine.

I flew back to England on Sunday and by Monday at 9 a.m. I was sitting at a desk in the lecture room. I must admit that I was a little homesick for the first couple of days, but once all my friends flew back, I felt good again. Except that I fell sick again: the incessant rain. My body succumbed again. It was not flu this time; it was a pretty tough case of tonsillitis. I was on an unintentional diet and could barely speak. The doctor asked me to write my problem down on paper, as it would be easier for me.

I spent the first week in bed. It made me think that it was a really “nice” beginning of my second semester. In a week’s time I had recovered enough to start going to the studio and dancing again.

I’ve been doing well so far. I am finishing my longest essay to date (2,000 words), but there is still a lot ahead of me. Holidays are away in the future, so let’s get to work! And carry on!

See you soon!
