LIFE LIKE OPERA – in full swing

„I can´t believe how time flies!“ – That´s something I always say to myself when I need to write again another article on my blog. So, I sit on the chair and start typing to a computer, from which is already playing The Requiem by Mozart, my favourite song ever, and while finishing my breakfast, I start to revise, what happened since posting the last post on my blog! And it was one hell of a ride!

In summer I was super busy! In July I visited the Olomouc Baroque Festival, where I sang in four operas four very different, yet beautiful roles. From the first lover, to a general or a servant. It was crazy! When I also add the concerts with our acapella quartet Symfon, I had fifteen shows during this month! I enjoyed it a lot, although I need to admit, that I was actually pretty stressed. After this whole month I was just laying in my bed for a week and I was enjoying my free time. In August, some of the shows were repeated within the scope of other festivals, so there was still a lot of work for me. Again, I had a chance to organize a little relaxing concert with my friends in Petrovice u Sedlčan in Central Bohemia, where I always like to come back thanks to an always very warm welcome from the mayor of the city Petr Štěpánek! In September I had a little, but still amazing concert in Liberec, although my thoughts were already in Vienna!
I am very lucky that I met this amazing man, my landlord, who agreed that I can keep most of my things in the flat in summer while being away most of the time and still not pay anything. The moving part was much easier this time – I was excited to meet the city, the teachers and my beloved friends.
When I got back to the school routine, it was pretty different this time. I was not in such an euphoria this year and I was actually pretty sad to leave my parents, my girlfriend, who studies on the other side of Europe, my friends and the Czech language. The phase that many people go through the first year they move… I had it a year after. Now I see everything in their true colors and I see the pure reality.
The autumn has been very stressful and tiring for me! I feel very sad because of the bad weather and I don´t have that much energy. But I prepare myself for many shows and projects! I am very excited for the shows in the Czech Republic, where I will sing with the Musica Bohemia orchestra with Jaroslav Krček and Dagmar Pecková. This project will last for the entire advent and I can´t wait, to be honest. I also have some shows with the Chorea Bohemica orchestra, that was founded more than fifty years ago and thanks to them I will sing in the Stavovské Theatre. On the 25th of December I have the only Ryba´s Czech Christmas Mass this year with the amazing Karlovarská Philharmony and my great colleagues in Karlovy Vary. There is really a lot of things to get excited for!
In the middle of October I also managed to get through the casting and I got a little role in the university project – we will study Rossini´s The Barber of Seville. We will play it in March in the castle´s theatre in Schönbrunn. The last news, which I am not sure of yet, should be in June 2020. I should be a part of the Národní Theatre project, which prepares the Martinů´s opera Arianda for the musical festival Smetana´s Litomyšl. If this will really happen, it will surely be an amazing experience!
Even though I have so much more work now and it makes me a little stressed, I do realize where I am and I have again this feeling, that Vienna is still beautiful, full of life and nice people, just as it was in the beginning and I am still so excited for everything. Excited and surprised in the same time… a hillbilly like me can live in this amazing world!
