Last months ahead

The nine months at work are over and I am approaching the final phase of my internship. Not much has changed over the last few months, perhaps except that I am more assured at work in every way and can do everything much faster and more efficiently than when I first started.

The nine months at work are over and I am approaching the final phase of my internship. Not much has changed over the last few months, perhaps except that I am more assured at work in every way and can do everything much faster and more efficiently than when I first started.

Also, I am slowly but surely gaining a greater insight into the film industry, from having seen quite a lot of films over the last year, to various financial trends in ticket sales and the popularity of the 3D format. A great deal of my job is working with nothing but figures that we receive from all territories, and then we in London interpret the data somehow and produce analyses confirming or dismissing those trends.

Happily, my job has not been only analyses and reports, and I had an opportunity to attend a few interesting events in recent months, the biggest certainly being the opportunity to visit Leavesden Studios (Europe’s largest film studio, reopened this year following a major renovation). A majority of the scenes from the Harry Potter series films were shot in these studios, and the various sets, costumes, models and props are now part of a breathtaking exhibit. I am not such a great fan of the films, but seeing the setting where the filmmakers worked for several years with my own eyes and realizing the huge amount of time invested in all of the sets and props was really interesting.

I have just three more months left at WB now, and so I hope I will get the most out of that time. But I am looking forward to having a vacation quite a bit, and perhaps even more to being a student again starting in September.
