On the day of the departure, I went to school and I was sitting there analysing Chekhov’s narrative technique in his short story The Lady with the Dog, although I was supposed to be at the airport already. However I have learned that even half an hour is enough to check in with getting my luggage wrapped into the plastic! This entire trip was paradox for me, I have never dreamed of going to the US, it was exactly the opposite, I explicitly said that there is nothing to attract me, and then I was literally running not to miss the plane. Sitting in the plane, the only thing I wished was to be on the way east not west.
After exhausting extremely long travel, we finally arrived to Los Angeles, where our trip around the Southwest Coast started. Our itinerary was planned to the very last minute, which was beneficial on one hand because we had the opportunity to the whole palette of tastes and colours of California, Utah, Arizona, and Nevada; on the other hand we had no time for proper rest. The crucial spot on the map for me was San Francisco, which I have definitely fallen in love with. Every single building, flower in the park, anything ... seemed different and better, of course, from what we had seen so far. I would be pleased only by walking up and down the hills to absorb the atmosphere. The delight and to know more from this city of art drives me to do anything to be able do my Master degree here.
