The whole second half of the year has been very hectic and full of different events. We have been finishing projects since February. The last one (and the best one) was a pop-up shop with our art that we organized on our own. I was selected to be the project manager, so despite all technical difficulties I was the proudest of what we’ve achieved. The experience we gained during the preparations are priceless and among friends we agreed that we will definitely repeat the shop next year.
The weather is more spring-like: warmer, but rainier than it has been all year. However, I went home for the Easter holidays and was welcomed by snow and illness, so I was happy to come back to pleasant temperatures and occasional rain. I also met a lady on the way home, who asked me to illustrate her children’s book in the making. If it gets finished, it will be a great experience for me and possibly the beggining of my illustration carreer.
Moreover, I finished my volunteering at the primary school and wrote an essay about the experience. The last day was emotional and very sweet, as both of the children brought me a card, thanked for the help and wished me the best of luck with the book. Apart from this module, I finished all of my other modules as well with very good grades, which made me happy and pushed me towards my studies next year.
To celebrate the end of the school year, Coventry University hosts a graduation ball every year at the end of May. Obviously, my friends and I agreed to go and therefore spent the evening in a beautiful scenery (the ball was held in the cathedral’s ruins with amazing lighting) and had a lot of fun. There were also some funfair rides, which added to the fun and were heavily used by everyone present.
And suddenly it’s over for a few months. I am looking forward to going home, but it feels strange for the year, which was so full of activities and new experiences, to be over. It is also strange to realize that next year there will be new nervous freshmen, who are unsure about where to go and what to do. I promised myself that I will help them if possible and will give out a whole box full of clothes hangers, I know it would help me to. Right now, I am only very excited to see what’s hidden in the second year.
