Hectic autumn

This year's journey from Prague to Coventry was very sentimental. Two years ago I travelled that journey for the first time and I had no idea what to expect, but I was really excited all the same. Now, going into my final bachelors degree year, I felt exactly the same way. I knew what to expect, but it's still my final year, a lot of things will be bigger and much more important.

I flew in at the beggining of September, because I signed myself up for a lot of activities that required my attention very early on.

Firstly, I started working as an internation student ambassador, which meant I spent a lot of September explaining where things are in Coventry and how to sign onto the student portal. It is, however, a great opportunity to make new friends and pass on all the knowledge we've gained in the past few years. The international welcome happened in our beautiful cathedral and I cannot wait to graduate there.

Secondly, I became a president of the archery club, meaning I had to organize the give it a go sessions, buy new equipment and sort out all the neccessities. Everything went smoothly, we are on the fifth week of our beginners' course and so far, all of our feedback has been positive. It's surreal that I lead a club countinng over a hundred people, but it's incredibly rewarding and another great experience.

Project work is also in full swing. We've been pushed into working since the beginning of the year by our tutors, who are pressuring us much more than in second year, but are also much more willing to help us with everything. I am currently working on a multimedia project about local unknown gems – forgotten historical buildings. I filmed videos about them, will be putting illustrations over and explaining the buildings' history in a fun way to make them more accesible and interesting to families with children. It's really exciting, but together with the disertation and archery it is making my life busier than ever before.

I've wanted to continue singing since my first arrival to England, but I didn't think that it would be until my most hectic year yet to actually find an hour a week to sing. My friends and I started attending a weekly session of the university's community choir and practicing Christmas carols and songs for the cathedral's service on 6th December. I am looking forwaard to it, not only because of the actual singing part, but also because you don't often get to perform in such a beautiful space.

It's been freezing lately and apparently, it even snowed back in the Czech Republic. Christmas decorations replaced the Halloween ones and everyone is excited for the Birmingham German market, like every year. I am once again more ready for Christmas than ever before, but for now, I am enjoying this hectic cold late autumn and trying not to think about this being the last year.
