End of my third year

In my final year my time and effort was almost equally distributed between studying towards my degree and applying for jobs. With experience from summer internship, two part time jobs, volunteering and various development programmes under my belt I was feeling optimistic.

After a lot of thinking and days of researching I decided to apply my passion for numbers and problem solving together with my communication and interpersonal skills and choose audit/assurance. All in all I have sent about 20 applications including for jobs, which were in other industries but sounded like they will fit my skills, experience and personality. I took part in three telephone interviews, two competency based interviews and an assessment centre and landed a job offer from a company I wanted to work for the most – PwC.

I will be working for the Assurance department of Gatwick office and in my first three years mainly on clients' sites and studying towards ACA qualification. My final interview was with senior partner, who showed a great deal of care and interest and to feel  even more welcome I have not only been contacted by my buddy but also invited to the company summer ball in July.

The job offer was, as it is often the case, dependant on obtaining degree of class 2.1. I sat 8 exams over 5 weeks and waited until the last week f June to get my results. I am ecstatic to confirm I did achieve 2.1 in Economics and therefore fulfilled all conditions of my offer. My graduation is planned for September 3rd and I am please that all my close family will come to London to celebrate with me. Partly because it will be just a few moments before I start another era of my life with PwC.
