Duties behind me, holiday ahead

It is unbelievable how the time flies by so fast. It seems to me like it was yesterday when I left my home and went abroad.

I have already a quarter of the whole course behind me, however, this past year should look quite relaxing in comparison with the following ones. But it was not. Apparently, everything will be much more demanding and complicated. Recently, I have found out that the University of Glasgow is the first among Scottish universities in university ranking in Psychology and the fourth among British universities generally, which shows its demanding nature and quality.

Psychology has always been interesting to me, but after I started studying it at the university, I have been trying to apply the new knowledge in real life situations that I encounter. It is fascinating to me when the life experiences in a way clarify my knowledge gained throughout the university studies. Even though some of my university friends consider whether their choice of subject is what they want to do in their life, I am one hundred per cent sure that Psychology is what will fulfil me. I am looking forward to exploring human destinies, issues, characters and behaviour. I want to change people’s lives, even if it was just a little bit.

I know that I have already thanked the foundation for their financial support, but it is never too much to thank them, since it is one of very few ways to “repay“ for their amazing job. Therefore, I want to express my thanks again to show my happiness and gratitude for what they have done for me and that I can receive education. Only few people from my background get the opportunity to study at universities in the Czech Republic, much less abroad, which is why I appreciate The Kellner Family Foundation’s job so much.

Although the fast flow of time during the university year makes me happy, during the holiday I naively hope that an hour will be twice as long, so that I can enjoy the experiences with my close ones. However, when I am done with the course, I will probably never have such long holiday anymore, so I will enjoy these fully. I do not want to atrophy even during the summer time, so I will try to improve my language skills in Spanish and knowledge in Psychology. Finally, I want to with you all happy summer.
