Back to work

More than five months since the beginning of my studies in Glasgow have passed by so quickly. There have been hard and even fine times in this period.

The ones the most demanding were the times of all the written pieces deadlines, but primarily our exam period before Christmas holiday. Even though it cost me a lot of hard work, I could leave for home in relatively calm state and enjoy the holidays fully. Nevertheless, I had to wait for my exam results until the end of January, which left me quite nervous. In the end, the results were surprisingly satisfying and motivated me for the second semester.

Even in the last half year months nothing has changed. The weather stays still the same – sun replaces the rain, and rain replaces the sun. However, when the sun comes out, it makes people smile and gives them a lot of positive energy. Being here then feels much better. Equally, my flat-mates manage to party as hard as during the Freshers’ week (this at least taught me to be more patient and tolerant). Apart from these, the past months have taught me many life lessons, and brought me good skills.

At this time, there are again deadlines for written pieces, and so I am trying hard to make it as good as possible and keep up with my last semester’s success. The nervousness increases and amount of work as well. Yet, in this state I manage to find sometimes some free time for my hobbies. Every week I visit a dancing club and from time to time I try to stay fit through other physical activities.

Lastly, I have found a truthful and interesting quote by Aristotle, who said “The roots of education are bitter, but the fruit is sweet.” I absolutely agree with him and this quote keeps me motivated to continue studying.
