Almost there

Dear readers, I say hello from the United Kingdom again. You are just reading my next-to-last contribution on the topic of the undergraduate studies abroad, which does not mean anything else but me being almost at the end of this three-year experience.

The second semester started two month ago and the whole time, it was like a huge cloud was hanging above it, a huge cloud of all kinds of deadlines for presentations and essays, from which cats and dogs rain every now and then. Now, my classmates and I have our last month of lectures, workshops and seminars ahead of us, after which a short release from the university rush will follow in a form of Easter break. However, I dare to say more than one of us of us will shorten the break substantially and will begin with the preparation for the exams a little earlier than they used to in the previous two years.

Not only, as I already mentioned in my previous contribution, that this year’s grades bear 75 % of the weight of the total grade; but also, there is not a chance to retake the exams in cases, in which students would not pass one or more exams. In these cases, instead of retakes, the university chooses moderately radical solution that is to reduce the level of the diploma.

Except for the school duties, my part-time job and recreational sports activities make me occupied. Although lately, one more concern has occurred - a concern about what will follow after I graduate with bachelor’s degree. Last time I already answered the question as to whether to continue with my studies quite positively. Therefore, I am currently making decisions about what schools to apply to and what country these schools should be located in, researching what courses they offer, and completing applications.

Probably as most of the third year students, or students in general, cannot wait, neither can I till the pleasing summer swelter will come and bus timetables will be changed to the summer ones, but mainly, till all the essays and dissertations will be handed in, and also till it will be after the exams. Hence, I do not have any other choice, but to say goodbye for now and get back to my studying duties, launch into them and hope for the best. Goodbye.
