I come from Šumice near Uherský Brod where I attended primary and also my grammar school. To fulfil my dream I focused on English and Math from the very start. I obtained FCE and CAE Certificates, participated in the mathematical correspondence seminar at Charles University. My decision for those subjects was completely confirmed by me attending the Open Day at the University of Edinburgh…and that was it. I took part in a demonstration lecture on Mathematics there and I knew I want to study abroad.

I went to University of Aberdeen for my first semester during which I found out that my previous experience in mathematics can also be applied to the study of computer science, so I became a two-major student. I participated in volunteering at Aberdeen Art Gallery and next year I look forward to help the Czech and Slovak Society with introducing the university to new students.

Goals

Firstly to complete the BSc. degree with a First Class Honours and to continue on M.A. studies. The plan is to get an internship in a computer company and then work in a research team at a prestigious British university where I, as time goes by, would like to become a professor and help other people in getting high valued education.

Interests

When I was a child I had many interests. I have been interested in fine art for a long period of time. I was attending the elementary art school where I also spent some time learning to play piano. I also like to dance and sing and if time I do not despise an interesting book or never miss the opportunity to travel.
