Adela Sevcikova loved playing the violin from her first contact with the instrument, at the age of six. She enjoyed a versatile and intensive musical education in the Czech Republic, studying at Brno Conservatoire and at the Janacek Academy of Music and Performing Arts with Milos Vacek. During that time, she was selected for the one year Erasmus exchange programme, where she studied under the tutelage of the leader of the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Pieter Schoeman at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London. After obtaining her Bachelor’s degree with distinction, she went on to the International Summer Academy held by University of Music and Performing Arts of Vienna, for which she received a full scholarship, and then to the Royal Academy of Music in London, where she is currently studying for her Master’s degree with Sophie Langdon.

As an emerging soloist and chamber musician, she has taken part in numerous masterclasses and coachings with such figures as the leader of the London Philharmonia Zsolt-Tihamer Visontay, György Pauk at the Wigmore Hall, Levon Chilingirian, Richard Markson, Ian Brown, as well as with the Carducci and Wihan Quartets. She has performed under the baton of world class conductors, such as Sir Mark Elder, Pascal Tortelier, Christian Thielemann and Trevor Pinnock.  In addition, she has frequently given concerts with the Moravian Chamber Orchestra and Brno Philharmonic Orchestra in many of the Czech Republic’s most prestigious concert halls both in Prague and Brno, and in a piano trio at the Festival Música sem Fronteiras in Portugal. She was also the leader of the Trinity Laban String Ensemble in London.

Teaching is an important and enriching part of her musical life. She is a teaching assistant at the Junior Royal Academy of Music in the First Strings Experience programme, teaches privately and is undertaking a teaching diploma at the RAM.

Adela is a grateful recipient of numerous scholarships:- from the Kellner Family Foundation,  Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic, the RAM Margot MacGibbon Award, and the Antonin Dvorak Foundation. She continues to be passionate about exploring new musical horizons as a musician and is an active presenter of Czech repertoire.
