Main Projects of The Kellner Family Foundation:

Project Pomáháme školám k úspěchu

Through the Pomáháme školám k úspěchu project, the Foundation has been contributing to the development of Czech public education since 2009. The project focuses primarily on promoting reading, writing and critical literacy and has been growing steadily in recent years, with 156 public primary schools from across the Czech Republic participating in the 2024/2025 school year. This represents some 4 500 teachers and up to 58 000 pupils. With the new schools, the city of Cheb, for example, joined the project last year with all its public primary schools, giving the city a unique opportunity to develop teaching across the whole area. The Foundation has provided a total of CZK 41.6 million to the participating schools in 2024, and a total of CZK 489.6 million in the 15 years since the project's inception.

Project Open Gate
The Foundation supports motivated children with learning potential by providing scholarships for study at the Open Gate eight-year grammar school in Babice u Prahy. The Foundation provides social scholarships to children who grow up in socially problematic environments, such as incomplete families, foster care or orphanages. It also offers academic scholarships to talented students from ordinary families. In the school year 2024/25, a total of 81 students studied at Open Gate with the support of the Foundation. Since 2005, the Foundation has provided scholarships to a total of 417 students for a total of CZK 849 million.

Project University

The Foundation offers scholarships to talented university students to study at top universities abroad. In the academic year 2024/2025, 63 students have received financial support, and since 2009 the Foundation has contributed a total of CZK 148 million to the studies of 273 Czech students. The long-term goal of the project is to support young people who want to contribute to the development of Czech society in the future through the knowledge they have acquired. That is why, in September 2024, The Kellner Family Foundation, together with the Bakala Foundation, concluded a memorandum of cooperation with Charles University, which will help speed up the nostrification of degrees from foreign universities and facilitate the return of Czech students to our country.

Individual donations and emergency aid after the floods

In addition to supporting three long-term projects in the field of education, the Kellner Family Foundation also made individual donations totalling CZK 186.2 million last year. These responded to the need for immediate assistance in the areas of culture, sports and emergency aid, among others. An extraordinary CZK 150 million was made to the regions affected by the floods in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland. CZK 50 million went to each of the countries to local non-profit organisations and primary schools in the affected areas.
