Veni, vidi

So it’s finally over. After two very intensive months of self-study and 7 exams I can now enjoy a little bit of time off with friends. I’ve swapped the library for the gym and Hyde Park where I go running and am trying to catch up on three months of virtually no physical activity. I am also looking for a flat and flatmates for next year and reading up on the topic of my upcoming research project.

Furthermore, I have finally found the time to visit the Science Museum and the Natural History Museum which are located in Exhibition Road right next to Imperial College campus. Especially the Science Museum features interesting exhibitions on flight and space exploration which – as an aeronautical engineer – I could not miss. It was interesting to find that the scope of the exhibition in the Science Museum is comparable to that in the workshop of the Faculty of Aeronautics at TU Delft in the Netherlands, which I had the opportunity to see after the second term while visiting friends who study there.

In Delft I had the chance to see everything on campus from wind tunnels to halls of residence and also attend some of my friends’ lectures. It all made a huge impression on me and it is no wonder that Delft is the highest ranking Dutch university which performs well even in international comparison.

I am planning to spend the summer in London working and undertaking a research project that I mentioned in my previous post. I am also looking forward to having my road bike sent over to London and taking it for a long ride.
