That’s it! …And Now the Adventure…

That’s it! This motto was invented by one of the most popular Czech stop-motion animated series featuring two handymen called Pat a Mat. These two guys are trying to implement their new ideas somehow. Unfortunately they are not very skilful and they usually don’t succeed first couple of times. I identify with them for the previous few years in my life. My way of fulfilling dreams wasn’t easy at all.

It sounds like a paradox, but last weeks was a signal that made me smile every morning while waking up. My good mood during mornings was unexpectedly coming every single day and making my days only better. I’m so excited for what is waiting for me. At the end of August I’m moving to Holland for a year where I’m going to study at The Hague University of Applied Science. The major I have chosen is called International Business and Management Studies. Studying abroad has been my dream since high school and therefore I can’t wait to experience new things that come with studying abroad.

Holland is one of the most international and economically developed countries. It’s known mainly for its flora (tulips are the best-known), windmills, abundance in tourism, and for beautiful and interesting historical monuments. The variety of nationalities living in Netherlands, many opportunities to work for students, the possibility of developing the range of my language abilities and much more were things that convinced me to choose this country as the best option for my future studies abroad.

During my preparations for an exchange program, and there is a lot to do, I finished my summer semester in the first year of my studies at Unicorn College. Despite my schedule being more relaxed than in the first term, it was much harder to succeed in some subjects. For instance Mathematics or Financial Accounting were subjects where many student in my grade failed. Fortunately, that wasn’t my case. I succeeded in every enrolled subject this year.

The second semester was hard according the level of tuition at my university. During some of the courses we could experience workshops that were prepared for us. Workshops are a good opportunity to experience the subject from its practical side. Simulating critic situation in a company and our subsequent solutions lead us to gain great experience for our future career life and development. My evaluation of the workshop could only be positive. I, as the manager of the team, took the position very responsibly. In advance of being involved in managerial positions in the future as well, I’m confident in having enough chances to take advantage of my gained experiences.

…And Now the Adventure… At every end we can find a very nice beginning. This new and best beginning for me is a year of studying at De Haagse Hogeschool. I’m leaving in a month to catch my dream and I believe that everything I dreamt of for a long time is coming true now.
