Studies are almost over

My studies in London are nearing their end. The penultimate semester of my third year has ended. Studying in the library regularly long into the night during the exam period has become my second nature, and I will likely even miss it.

My studies in London are nearing their end. The penultimate semester of my third year has ended. Studying in the library regularly long into the night during the exam period has become my second nature, and I will likely even miss it.

My last semester is ahead. It’s one of the most important semesters and it will determine my final diploma. This semester will decide the grade on my diploma.

As my studies are ending, of course I’m thinking about what’s next. My possibilities include getting some working experience where I could try out my knowledge, and continuing towards a Master’s degree. Time will tell how I decide.

In addition to studying, I obviously pursue extracurricular activities. I regularly attend the lectures and meetings organized by the university’s Business Society as well as those run by Bloomberg. I got to like them a lot during my studies for the insights they gave me. I am going to a meeting with Nassim Taleb, the creator of Black Swan theory.

I am also developing in a field of my interest, which is coaching. In addition to reading on the topic (Gallwey, Whitmore), I attended a conference and a two-day training. Coaching is becoming an increasingly more interesting form of my self-development, and that’s not all. I think that knowledge of coaching is a key skill for managers and leaders in our millennium.

Of course, I also pursue sports, and aside from the few regular kilometers I run every day, I started practicing Tai Chi a few weeks ago, after the exam term had ended. This exercise gives me relaxation and time to “turn off” and not think about anything during my busy days.
