Semi-doctor and summer in Norway

Hi from the most western city in Norway – Florø. I’m going to spend in this beautiful city next 3 months. I hope that at the end of September I will come back to the Czech Republic with many new experiences. Especially from a local health care centre, where I will fulfil my summer practice. My aim is also to become much better in Norwegian – or in “western-dialect Norwegian”.

Language here is totally different from what I studied in Prague. Therefore such a simply sentence in bokmål (official written standard of Norwegian language) such as “Jeg vet ikke ” sounds like “Égg vejt iče“.

But when I look outside of the window and see the amazing view with ocean, mountains and fascinating nature it´s like a “motivation kick” to study this beautiful-strange-viking language even more. My euphoria is usually not so big after visiting a local supermarket. At the first look it is quite ok – prices seem to be more less the same as in the Czech Republic – milk 25, white yogurt 15, bread 33 and water 25 but all prices are in NOK it means that to get the Czech value we have to multiply prices by three.

Back to my summer semester in Prague – it was the best semester so far. I had enough time for studying and I spent almost every second weekend at home in Pribyslav. I had 4 main mandatory subjects: hematology, oncology, microbiology+infectology+immunology and imaging methods. After winter semester with general pathology it was really nice to study some more clinically orientated subjects. At the end of the semester I got a nice motivation - when I passed one of my last exams and teacher looked through my credit book and asked me: “So, Eva are you trying to get a red diploma?”.
