I can see the finish line now

Since my last article, nothing has really changed much. The to-do-list in my diary seems to be infinite and what is even worse, it is still frequently raining outside. Unfortunately, it does not look it will stop any time soon.

The situation is actually so frustrating that the locals started complaining as well. On one hand, I can really see the upside of living at the top of the hill now. On the other hand, there was water coming out of our chandelier recently. Thank God we have landlords who care so this is not an issue any more.

As far as my studying is concerned, I keep learning German. This should enables me to add “with proficiency in German” to my degree and thus, possibly hitting university record for having the longest degree title. It would look like this: BA (Hons) Management with Leadership with International Study with Proficiency in German, and this excludes my final classification.

I continue with two other subjects from the first semester: Strategic Management a Dissertation. The first module proved to be both engaging and intellectually demanding. Furthermore, there is a fine balance between theory and practice. We are currently working on a project that involves analysis and evaluation of the strategy of one of Boeing’s business units – Boeing Commercial Airplanes. We are also expected to come up with applicable recommendations. We have already finished a very detailed report and now are looking forward to presenting the key results next week. In case of my dissertation, I am now finishing the literature review. So far, I have discovered certain gaps in the current knowledge and hopefully, I will be able to fill some of them. I am using firms like Red Bull, Dollar Shave Club and Tourism Queensland and their successful campaigns in order to create a managerial framework that would be helpful in creating a marketing campaign that would effectively get through the current advertising clutter. The only new module this term is called Exploring Leadership: Critical Inquiry. The idea is to put together all the acquired knowledge and introduced theories from the last four years in order to help our client, Buro Happold, with various challenges the partnership currently faces.

By the way, I was finally given my exam timetable and the date of my graduation. This means that my four-year university adventure got an exact time frame and is about to end soon.
