Hide all cameras and give me a microphone

Writing articles, making interviews and photos, that’s what I like. I enjoy these journalistic things and I dare say that it is the work of my future.

Still I do not have the necessary knowledge for the real journalism and a sufficient understanding of what is happening in the Czech Republic or worldwide, but that's the reason why I'm studying social media and communications. Having an overview is very important for journalist, but not only for them. For every person who lives on the Earth.

For several years I am convinced that I would like to work for the print media. But I am surprised how I changed my opinion on TV production over the last few weeks. I was scared of cameras. When we were working in the school’s AV Studio during lessons, I would like to run away and never come back. Teachers played these videos in the class and students evaluated them. I hated seeing my face on TV after the recording. My face was red and I get totally perspired during the recording speech. After a time I resigned myself to this type of work, recording by cameras. I am still nervous, but I’m not afraid of cameras so much now and sometimes I’m thinking about the work of a moderator or commentator. But the true is that this job is not suitable for me. Maybe I would like to try to moderate or to comment a closed event, without cameras and lot of people watching it.

Not only the TV work, but I started to like the radio work as well. Talking on microphone was driving me crazy last school year, but this semester I started to accept it and I found some positives of being moderator in a radio. Nobody see your face, just your voice is being heard. It is not so depressing. Sometimes we have homework to make a message or reportage and then we have to read it on microphone in the school. No problem for me this year. Probably I would enjoy becoming an employee of a radio station. Not sitting in a studio and talking to listeners, but running around with a microphone, reporting news and doing interviews with respondents, because it is quite similar to the classic work of journalists.

I have quite time enough to make a decision what I really want to do in the future. Although, school years are fleeing incredibly fast, and the more final exams approaching, the faster time goes. Rather sprints. The most important thing is that I started to enjoy studying again. While last year I have a lot of lectures and an exercise walked out of necessity and I was bored, this year I look forward to every lesson. Maybe it's because of subjects, perhaps professors or classmates ... Anyway, I really enjoy it and I am looking forward to the moment, when I proudly put the bachelor's degree before my name.
