Four years and one degree later

I can’t believe I wrote my first blog post in autumn 2012. Four years and one undergraduate degree later, here I am writing my last post ever.

I have successfully completed my last semester in St Andrews; it was not easy for finishing up my undergraduate dissertation took a lot of my time and even my entire spring holiday. The last two weeks of writing were especially challenging. However, overall, I think that the yearly project, despite many doubts and restless nights, was a very enriching endeavour that made me leave St Andrews with a sizeable piece of my own academic work. Many times throughout the year, I doubted whether writing a dissertation was the right choice, but now I think I made the correct decision. Not only that I received an excellent grade, but I even won an award for the best dissertation of the year.

In September, I would like to start a master in International Development at the London School of Economics. As always, the most difficult part is not to get accepted to the university of one’s choice, but to somehow procure the necessary funding. With no money available in the family, this is not an easy process. I remain hopeful that I will secure funding because, otherwise, I could not afford to study in London next academic year.

To conclude my post, I want to thank the Kellner Family Foundation for sponsoring me throughout my studies in St Andrews. Without the help, it would not have been possible for me to spend these amazing years in such a wonderful place like St Andrews. Once again, thank you!
