End of the second academic year

It’s June, some say the summer’s here (but I still don’t believe them), and my memories of the second exam period are slowly melting away. If the results didn’t arrive yesterday, I would not remember them during the holidays. My final grades were not very different from what I had expected, so I will be able proceed to next year with a good GPA.

I’m not entirely sure if I experienced the same feeling right after my first exams at university, but I have had a special feeling of calm and peace since I completed the last test in May. Suddenly, I start noticing things I didn’t see before and enjoying things as simple as sitting in a garden. As a result, I have discovered places I never knew there were in Exeter.

I also got back to sports during the holidays, adding squash to volleyball, which has shown in the way I now climb stairs and our university hill (mountain?) – with a smile. Unless it’s raining, that is. I’m just sorry about not having arranged for a short-term job.

I’m boarding an airplane to Prague tomorrow, heading for a few days with my family and friends, and then – if I manage everything on time – I should go to the “Land Down Under” for a year. So keep your fingers crossed for me, and I will tell you what it’s like writing upside down and swimming with sharks – simply, what being an Australian is all about.
