Confusing, however new beginning!

My biggest dream was to study in English as I was used to from high school. I planned to study on other international universities in Prague, where I was also accepted, but unfortunately for insufficiency of financial amount for university fee, for the last minute I had to change my mind. As it appeared there was chance to study in English also at Unicorn College. The only problem was that program, for international students, was set up only as part-time study. Me, as a better student while listening professors I prefer daily form of studying. Unfortunately the disadvantage of my decision was three-year program in Czech language.

The very first day and whole week of school was very unpredictable. Almost two weeks after I hadn't any precise schedule, what time and where I have specific lesson. It was quite an adventure to get to the right place at the right moment. On the other hand, I was also benefiting from it. Form this unsystematic running around I met new people, who were confused same as me. The positive thing appears when we realized, that at UC “V Kapslovně street“, where the school is placed, are only three classrooms. Suddenly I appeared at Business English. The first lesson I made an excellent introduction of myself. At high school I went through IB Diploma Program, so my English wasn't problem at all. By this I got six credits for free, just because earlier experiences and practices. Next lesson wasn't that easy as English was. ICT technologies, the subject is called, seemed to be more complicated. However, that day our professor decided not to come to the class so, we as students used the opportunity to get know each other better. During afternoon I had two more classes; Introduction to Accounting and Basic Math.

This university is mainly based on majors as IT and ICT management are. Therefore it’s a special moment for you seeing some girl in our basement. In my year there are about ten girls including me. Older students told us, that we are the strongest year in the history of Unicorn College, by meaning number of girls. While I was thinking, that students of IT are boring and just sitting in front of computer all day, true is the opposite. All my classmates are not only good in working in groups, but also perfect partners for any social event. The first of them was our official acceptance at UC while matriculation that was placed in Bethlehem Chapel in Old Town. Next social and traditional event waiting for us is a Christmas Soireé organizes by Vladimír Kovář who is the founder of whole company of Unicorn. Invited are as teachers and all working stuff as students.

I’m excited about three year cooperation with Unicorn College. I hope my motivation will continue and have the opportunity to be deepening even more. I’m open to any new beginnings either confusing or systematic and I believe that my chosen university is the one that will leads me “per aspera ad astra”.
