3 semesters left

Winter semester was quite difficult or maybe it’s better to say more time consuming than semesters last year. Right before the Christmas break I had my first state exam (it means one of the six final exams at medical school). I basically spent 2,5 months studying neuroscience - no weekends, no holidays. But it was worth it, because right after my exam I had Christmas vacation without any studying (finally, after 4 last Christmas spent with medical books).

Right now I am in Norway, enjoying some free days before the next semester starts. It is not so bad to study medicine, during the last years of medical studies there are some “free days”; it means days when we either feel that we are supposed to study on our own or days when we are having a practice at a hospital. I am by the way going to have my compulsory surgery training here in Norway – it is my kind of winter holiday. And one more detail during the autumn I successfully passed the Norwegian language exam.

I am really excited about summer semester but not because of school or studying. Me and my fiancé are getting married in April and it is right now the most important priority. We have been engaged for one and half year and been together for almost 4 years and feel that this spring will be the right time to make it official. So my evenings right now are more focused on the wedding menu and finding the right dress than on repeating pharmacology. We will see how easy or difficult it will be to manage both school and our dream wedding. But so far I feel that the thoughts about wedding make me happy, motivated and even more effective when I am studying. Hope it all will be fine and I’ll share with you some wedding pictures next time.
