Open Gate graduate in 2017
I was born in Uherské Hradiště and attended the local grammar school. When I was fifteen I moved to a dorm in Brno, but then I transferred to Open Gate one year later. I passed both the Czech school leaving exam and the International Baccalaureate at Open Gate, namely in Biology, Economics, English, Mathematics, Czech and Spanish.
I like jogging, reading and going to the theater to see operas or ballet in my spare time. I travel whenever I can. So far, I liked Morocco and Israel best. I enjoy learning new languages – I speak Czech, English, and Spanish and basic French. I have started learning Korean on my own and want to continue in university. I want to go on volunteering as well. To date, I have, for example, taught languages and skiing to children and worked at a home for the elderly.
I chose to study law since, as an academic field, it fascinates me by its social impact and the need for precise analysis and logical arguments. The University of Cambridge is ideal for taking this program – thanks not only to the quality of the teaching but also the inspiring environment, the full potential of which I want to tap.

My current goal is to successfully complete my Bachelor’s degree program in law. I want to enjoy my university experience as much as possible, including by getting involved in student clubs and projects such as editing the university newspaper. Having obtained my Bachelor’s, I would like to go on studying for a Master’s and stay in academia.
