I was born and grew up in Ostrava. I always hated it when my hometown was perceived as an industrial stain on the country’s map. Thanks to its past, Ostrava is more colorful than many believe it to be, and I always tried to promote that: during the preparations for the Ostrava – Candidate for the European Capital of Culture 2015 project, as a volunteer at the European Athletics U23 Championships, and helping to organize the Colours of Ostrava music festival.
I hate boredom, so I got involved in several extracurricular activities, including the Prague Student Summit, which enabled me to meet active people from all over the Czech Republic, and the Media for MDGs, which allowed me to peek into journalistic and developmental matters.
In my opinion, international experience is absolutely indispensable in today’s world. Hence, I am happy that my straight A’s on my graduation certificate and the financial help from THE KELLNER FAMILY FOUNDATION have enabled me to study international relations at Scotland’s University of St Andrews.
