I started playing the accordion at age six at the Jan Zach Elementary Art School in Čelákovice. I placed very well in several accordion competitions at a very early age, but I achieved my greatest competition and concert successes as a student of the Prague Conservatory where I took accordion performance under the leadership of Professor Josef Hřebík from 2009 (I won awards at leading accordion competitions in the Czech Republic, Croatia, Italy, Germany and Russia).
The most prominent of these awards, the overall victory in Pula, Croatia (2012) netted me many opportunities such as a concert for the European Broadcasting Union, a concert as part of the Prague Music Fete where I performed as Václav Hudeček’s special guest, and appearances on TV shows. I also appeared at festivals in Stockholm, Dresden and Salzburg and at the Expo in Milan. Playing dozens of concerts per year, I have had the opportunity to work with the likes of Jaroslav Svěcený, Lubomír Brabec, the Czech Trio, the State Opera, the Bohumír Hanžlík Orchestra, and Bardolino.
Since 2015 I have been studying accordion at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, where I struck up concert collaborations with other students during my first academic year. We are putting together some compelling projects and chamber music concerts for next year. My first solo album is out in the summer of 2016.
I greatly appreciate the support from The Kellner Family Foundation, thanks to which I can attend this prestigious college while fully concentrating on my studies and concert activities.
