Markéta Míšková (Malcová)

I studied at Český Brod Primary School and after I graduated from the Open Gate Grammar School in 2020. This study was possible only thanks to The Kellner Family Foundation for which I am very thankful.

This is where my passion about chemistry and biology has risen up and inspired me in my will to study medicine. I participated in various volunteer activities including reading to seniors, tutoring English, organizing camps and this brought me a lot of experience. Helping the other, especially children fulfils me at maximum level. Therefore I know for such even now that if there is a chance to volunteer during my university studies I definitely will do so. I would also like to complete the gold level of Duke of Edinburgh Award and become a member of some orchestra or jazz band in the future.

Goals

Successfully complete my university studies and after that I would like to devote myself to scientific work and research focusing on the diseases of civilization. I would love to contribute to the development of healthcare which I find crucial for the society as it is shown not only by the current situation with covid-19.

Interests

I enjoy biology and chemistry. Actually chemistry is the winner because it is close to me in its logic and accuracy. I like to take part in laboratory practises whether it is microscopic observation, autopsy or working with chemicals manually. In my free time I enjoy traveling, hiking with a group of friends and listening music. I have been playing piano for over ten years and learning to play clarinet as well.
