I come from Slovakia, but my family relocated to Prague even before I started elementary school. I loved math right from the start, but I was only intrigued by its practical applications during the eight years spent at The Johannes Kepler Gymnasium. It was also thanks to the enthusiasm of my school teachers that I started to pursue applied mathematics beyond the confines of secondary-level learning. For example, I took the Calculus course as part of the CTY Online program run by the Johns Hopkins University in the U.S., which I completed with the internationally recognized AP examination.

Since I have a competitive spirit, I regularly participated in Physics Olympiads. During my sixth year in school, I took a three-month internship at the Winchester College in the UK, and this extraordinary experience greatly influenced my choice of university. It was also thanks to some of the older students of my high school (many of whom also studied at the Winchester College and went on to be admitted to the Universities in Cambridge and Oxford) that I set myself a demanding goal and filed an application for Engineering, the subject of my dreams, with the University of Cambridge.

My application was successful, so I can make my dream come true beginning October 2016, also thanks to the support from The Kellner Family Foundation.
