Vít Beran

Headteacher, Kunratice Primary School

Principal of the faculty and pilot project Kunratice Elementary School since February 2007. He started his teaching career at the Libčická Elementary School in Prague 8 in 1982, and was the principal of the Elementary School of Charles University’s Faculty of Education in Táborská Street in Prague from February 1992. He was the Head of the Biology Unit of the District Pedagogy Center in Prague 8 in the 1980s. He chaired the District Council of the Czech and Moravian Trade Unions in Prague 8 from 1990 to 1992. Since 1990, he has been a member of the Friends of Engaged Teaching, the Association for Elementary Education of the CR, and the Association of the Teaching Profession of the CR, and has written papers and publications for teachers. He is active in continuing education for teachers and in the creation, verification and shaping of projects for elementary education. He was a member of the editorial board for the Učitelské listy periodical and the editor for the Nakladatelství Dr. Josef Raabe publishing house for many years. He has been a member of the Helping Schools Succeed expert panel since 2009. 

Mr. Beran is married and has four children. He likes the outdoors and hiking. He organizes skiing and canoeing camps during holidays.
