Renáta Kellnerová

Founder and Chairwoman of the Board of Trustees

Renáta Kellnerová and The Kellner Family Foundation help academically gifted, motivated children from disadvantaged social backgrounds and young people with a strong interest in getting a top university education. Renáta and the Foundation’s team also work hard to improve the quality of public primary school education in the Czech Republic.

On her initiative, Open Gate, a private grammar school with student accommodation, was established in 2005 in Babice near Prague. This was the first eight-year grammar school in the Czech Republic to obtain certification for its students to pass the International Baccalaureate (IB). Support from the Foundation gives children from backgrounds where a good education is not encouraged the chance to study and receive high-quality schooling.

I consider it a great success when a frightened 11-year-old girl with a troubled childhood comes to Open Gate and grows into a confident young woman who knows what she wants to achieve in life and what social responsibility means.

Renáta Kellnerová also contributes to other individuals and institutions for projects in education, culture, sports, the environment and promotion of health.

Her eldest daughter Anna’s love for horses led her to equestrian sports, and in 2013, she founded the Czech Equestrian Team. The team breeds and trains horses for equestrian sports and is a major influence on the growing popularity of show jumping in the Czech Republic.

Renáta Kellnerová is interested in fine arts. She enjoys relaxing in her free time, especially in nature. Her leisure pursuits include various sports, such as cycling and skiing. She fully supports her children as they develop and pursue their own interests.

Renáta Kellnerová and Petr Kellner raised four children together – Petr, Anna, Lara and Marie.
