The end of my Oxford BA

June 2018 signifies the end of my undergraduate study at Oxford. Despite the challenging phase of final exams, I must say I have thoroughly enjoyed my last few months at Oxford, mainly thanks to finally learning how to work efficiently and how to fit a lot of hobbies and exercise into my evenings. Despite this work-life balance, my finals results were good and this opened the door to my next journey of a PhD in psychiatry research, still in Oxford, where I’ll be starting in October.

I am looking forward to my PhD thanks to already specialising in relevant subjects and research methods during my final year, so I feel like I know what I’m getting into. I will be working in the Psychopharmacology and Emotion Research Lab supervised by Professor Catherine Harmer and my research will probably focus on understanding some aspects of antidepressant medication.

I am immensely grateful to Kellner Family Foundation for supporting me financially throughout my undergraduate and thus allowing me to academically thrive in Oxford. I hope to one day use my education abroad to enrich psychological research and care in the Czech Republic.
