Finished with my exams and starting with my Madagascar project

I can hardly believe that the semester is over and it’s less than 24 hours till my flight to Madagascar.

Second semester I spent mostly at work, with my friends and with and around books. Even though some of the books were occasionally used for study purposes, they were generally children story books that slowly changed my room into a library. I felt like the Alice in Wonderland when one email, than joke and later challenge evolved into me building a library in Madagascar on my own. In last 3 months I managed to gather around 350 English and French books (in Reunion, Aberdeen and Czech Republic) and fundraise around 500GBP. My room felt like library and I was either librarian, call centre for some airline companies or book collector. All in all I could not complain about being bored or having nothing to do. Today I packed the last 60kg for my Madagascar Bookfeeding Project and everything is ready to board the plane!

Apart of my ‘library – thing’ I was also trying to get even more involved in some societies and I became the President for Czech and Slovak society and secretary for Buddhist society for next year. In less than a year the CZSK society grew and expanded and now we have around 20 members and I will do my best to get even more members the following year.

I am never bored at the University as there is always some surprise on the way. I am still finding new hobbies and I am at the same time trying not to forget about the old ones. Recently one of my photographs won second place in University competition and was chosen to represent our University in the world-wide competition among various universities. I travel a lot and I do enjoy taking pictures, therefore I decided to buy a new camera which I am taking with me to Africa. I am hoping to join Photography society next year and hopefully learn even more about it.

For now I wish you all a lovely summer holidays and good luck to those still fighting with their exams, it will soon be over!
