Bittersweet end

I don’t even know where to start... maybe that I really wasn’t expecting to be writing my final blog in such conditions. Literally the WORST time to be graduating... and especially artistic school.

Last time you heard of me was after our groupshow in February, just before the sh*t went down.

I am grateful that I managed to show the work in progress of my graduation act during one cabaret night in Belgium before the lockdown.

It was great to ensure myself that I am on a good track with the act and that people really enjoy it.

The week after just “tasting” how my graduation act would have feel like, our school among the whole Netherlands and the rest of the world closed down.

No one knew what to do: Czech and Dutch governments, the universities, tax authorities,  professionals...

The life rhythm I was living in suddenly  stopped and any plans for near or further future became completely irrelevant.

Our education paused, all my jobs got cancelled and I really quickly ran out of the last bit of money I saved to finish this school with.

The circle is complete.

4 years ago, I got accepted for Codarts Circus Arts and had no finances to start the study with. I was calling and emailing everyone if they could support me.

4 years later, (this time because of the pandemic) I am in the same situation.
