Jana Breníková

She graduated from the Faculty of Education of the University of West Bohemia with a degree for teaching at the first stage (age 6 to 10) of elementary schools, with an extended program in remedial pedagogy. She worked as a teacher at the Plzeň-Černice Elementary School, running the Starting Together program, for 13 years. She teaches for Step-by-Step, focusing on literacy and formative evaluation. She reviews textbooks for the Ministry of Education. She participates in Helping Schools Succeed as a member of the literacy team and coordinates the pilot phase of the launch of Reading Continuum in kindergartens. She has been working as an instructional coach at the project’s model schools.
