Student resume

My name is Martin Žilka and I live in Dubice (Moravia). Thanks to a scholarship from The Kellner Family Foundation, I was able to complete eight years of studies at the Open Gate grammar school and I am now a student at the Czech Technical University in Prague. I graduated in Czech, English, physics, mathematics and economics. I completed my school leaving examination with IB certificates in Theory of Knowledge, English B Higher Level, Mathematics Standard Level and Economics Standard Level.

During my studies at the grammar school, I was actively involved in sports, mainly kickboxing and swimming. I swam in most of the swimming relays organised by the school, and I always supported our team in this way. I was also involved in creative activities: I played in four school theatre performances, and I organised the last one in its entirety along with my classmates. I also organised the annual school floorball tournament, for example, first as an assistant and finally as the main organiser.

Thanks to the grant from The Kellner Family Foundation, I can now continue my studies at the Czech Technical University in Prague – Faculty of Information Technology, and live in the Strahov hall of residence in Prague. In my free time, as well as studying and sport, I like to get involved in the Student Union and to continue organising events for the community. I like cooking, playing board games and reading, and I am interested in fantasy.
