Gabriela Klečková

Project Consultant, Staňkov Primary School

Ms. Klečková studied English Language Education for the fifth to ninth grades at the University of West Bohemia’s Faculty of Education in Plzeň. After four years of teaching fifth- to ninth-graders at the grammar school (gymnázium) on Plzeň’s Mikulášské náměstí, she left to study in the United States, where she completed a doctoral program in applied linguistics at the University of Memphis. She began working as a junior lecturer in the Department of English at the University of West Bohemia’s Faculty of Education in 2005, and has headed the department since 2010. Besides general English didactics, she is also involved in the creation, design, and use of English language teaching materials, content and language integrated learning (CLIL), and management and innovation in education. She is active in TESOL International Association, where she was a member of the Board of Directors from 2012 to 2015. She is a member of the expert team for English didactics at the National Institute for Education in Prague and a member of AMATE (Association of Teacher Educators) and ATECR (Association of Teachers of English in the Czech Republic), and she collaborates with the Czech Ministry of Education and other institutions involved in the further education of teaching professionals. She has been an instructional coach at the Staňkov Elementary School since February 2017.
